Questions

Frequently asked

The questions we get most, answered the way we would answer them on the phone.

Have this ready when you call

Four things let us start the paperwork on the first call instead of the second.

  1. Full nameOf the person in jailFirst, middle, last. Spelling matters more than you would think.
  2. Which jailCounty and facilityIf you are not sure, tell us where the arrest happened.
  3. Booking numberFrom the jail or inmate searchNot required to start, but it speeds everything up.
  4. The chargesWhat they were booked onThe charges determine the bond amount and the conditions.
Are you open 24/7?

Yes. Arrests do not keep business hours, so neither do we. Call 770-560-1330 at any hour, including weekends and holidays, and a person will answer.

What areas do you serve?

Our office is in Jackson and we write bonds in Butts County and across the state of Georgia. If the arrest happened in a county far from us, we either drive to it or work with a bondsman there through co-op bonding, so nobody sits in jail waiting on a car.

See the counties we cover.

Where is your office located?

464 W 3rd St, Jackson, GA 30233. Get directions. You do not have to come to the office. If you are near the jail we will usually meet you there, and if you are out of the area the paperwork and payment can be handled over the phone.

What information helps speed up a bond request?

Four things: the full name of the person in jail, which jail they are in, their booking number, and what they were charged with. The booking number is the one people most often do not have, and it is the one that saves the most time. If you only have a name and a county, call anyway. We can usually find the rest.

How much does a bail bond cost?

A bail bond premium in Georgia typically runs 10% to 15% of the bond amount, and it is a fee, not a deposit. On a $5,000 bond at 15%, the premium is $750, and that money is not returned when the case ends. The exact rate depends on the county and the charge, so call us with the bond amount and we will tell you the number before you commit to anything.

What is collateral, and will I need it?

Collateral is property signed over as a guarantee that the defendant will appear in court. It can be a house, a car, jewelry, or something else of value. Not every bond requires it. When it does, the collateral is released once the case is over and the bond is exonerated.

What happens if the defendant misses court?

The bond is forfeited and we become responsible for the full bail amount. We are then required to locate the defendant and return them to custody, and any collateral signed over with the bond can be lost. As long as the defendant appears at every court date and follows the conditions of release, none of that comes into play.

Can you write a bond if I am not in Georgia?

Yes. Paperwork and payment can be handled electronically or over the phone. You do not need to be in the same city, or the same state, as the person in jail.
